Long time, no…write?! It’s been a crazy few weeks – the lead up to deadlines before Christmas, travelling home and seeing family and friends whilst also trying to fit in uni work has meant that I’ve barely had time to stop and think, let alone blog (or sleep for that matter)! So apologies for the delay in posting, but thanks for coming back to read!
Since my last post we’ve said goodbye to another year and welcomed the new one.
I know for the world on a whole, 2016 has not been the best…
We lost many icons, and countless others who the world did not recognise; a lot of people seemed to lose hope in global politics; and to top it all off, we lost the Great British Bake Off to Channel 4.
Despite this, all was not bad news: Leonardo DiCaprio finally won an Oscar, Team GB beat their medal record at the Summer Olympics and the world of Harry Potter returned to both our stages and our screens.
For myself, 2016 has been an important year, I…
- Finished my first year of uni with grades I am extremely proud of. Curious about my first year experience? Click here to read all about it.
- Became an Aunty for the first time.
- Competed on one of the most famous dancefloors in the world.
- Travelled to a new country (where I ate a lot of ice cream).
- And, most importantly, I laughed most of the year away, making memories with friends, family and my boyfriend.
Welcoming 2017
I believe a year, just like life, is what you make it. The truth is that the world doesn’t owe you anything. This year will only be better than the last if you make it better than the last. I hope you have the courage to go out and achieve what you’ve been dreaming of, figure out what it is that makes you happy, and make the most of everything you have.
Let’s make the most of this new year; bring on 2017!
